Souls carry their personality with them when they cross to the Other Side. If Aunt Nancy liked to tease you and make you laugh in life – she’ll show up the same way in your reading. Keeping the connection you’ve always had, alive.
Once a soul has transitioned, they go through a Life Review. After they are greeted and welcomed by loved ones, God, angels, and spirit guides, the soul meets with it’s counsel – or Soul Team – to go over the life they just completed. Together, they sort through the souls life path. Were lessons and goals for spiritual growth met? Were choices and actions made with pure heart and intention? There is no punishment here – only loving counsel.
Depending on the souls contract, and life experiences, they may need some time to heal their wounds on the Other Side. Their angels are there to assist with this. After the soul feels healed and whole, they are ready to continue their development. They have the opportunity to work in an area of their choice to further grow their soul from Heaven. (They may also choose to reincarnate at another time, to give Earth School another go at mastery). While in Heaven, the soul sheds all pain, all ego concerns, and heaviness of life. There is a profound shift in their perspective.

1. Don’t Let Your Grief Keep You Down
Losing a loved one is one of life’s most painful experiences. It’s hard to carry on and continue life as you know it, when someone you love is no longer present in the physical world. And while it’s something you may never fully get used to, Spirit asks us to keep our hearts open to joy. Deep feelings of grief weigh heavy on our soul, clouding our relationships with living loved ones, as well as blocking our connection to the Other Side. Heaven wants nothing more than to see us happy and healthy. Grief may play a role in our life, but Spirit encourages us to continue living, loving and experiencing life to the fullest. Your loved ones on the Other Side will be right there with you every step of the way – watching, protecting, and sending signs to guide you down your highest path.

2. I Hear Your Prayers
When connecting clients to their loved ones on the Other Side in readings, Spirit will often show me an image of a telephone. This is Spirits way of telling me they’ve heard your prayers. They know you call out to them, speak their name, and talk to them as if they were right next you. Just thinking of them sends an energetic vibration out into the Universe, signaling the soul of your loved one. Keep those lines of communication open – they hear you loud and clear.
3. I’m Sorry
With clearer perspective gained upon the souls Life Review, our loved ones in Heaven are able to see how their actions and behaviors affected us in ways they were limited to seeing before releasing their earthly body. They’ve had time to learn from their mistakes and express remorse. It’s common for Spirit to apologize during readings. They will often ask me to relay how sorry they are for not treating someone as they should have, or for the emotional pain they caused their loved one in life. They ask for forgiveness in order for both souls to move forward without guilt or resentment. It’s really a beautiful thing to witness.

Heaven is closer than you think! When we visualize the veil that separates Heaven and Earth as being thin as a sheet of paper, with us on one side, and our loved ones in spirit on the other, we can begin to understand just how close their energy is to ours. That’s why we call it The Other Side. We may have an image of Heaven being far off in a distant place, but this is not what’s shown to me in readings. When I tune in to a persons energy, and call forth their loved ones on the Other Side, the energies that step forward are closely connected to the aura of my sitter (client who is being read). It’s like a snap of the finger, and they are there. This works the same way when you want to connect with the energy of your loved one without a medium. 5. Thank You For Loving & Supporting Me
So many times during mediumship sessions, loved ones will step forward with a deep sense of gratitude. Thanking their family or friends for loving, supporting, and never giving up on them. Even in times where it seemed as though they may have given up on themselves. This is especially true if a soul faced difficult personal struggles in life. What I see a lot in these situations, is the soul not only thanking their loved ones for their unconditional love, but also expressing the ways in which they are now working to “repay” them by protecting and guiding them from the Other Side. This often becomes part of the work they choose to do in Heaven to continue to grow their soul. Which brings us to #6.
6. You Would Be So Proud Of The Work I’m Doing Now
After our soul has gone through life review, and healed from our recent lifetime on earth, we are ready to spiritually evolve to the next level. This is where our loved ones in Heaven are given the opportunity to continue serving their souls purpose. Many times during readings, departed souls will take great pride in the work they are doing on the Other Side, and ask for this message to be conveyed to their loved one. This often includes areas of work that the soul connected with in life. They’re excited to share the progressions they’ve made and let you know they are continuing to fulfill their souls purpose.
7. It Is Not Your Fault
This is a strong message from Spirit- It is Not your fault. The souls of our loved ones on the Other Side take full responsibility for their departures. It’s hard for us here living our physical lives to fully understand the dynamics of soul contracts, soul lessons, and exit points. On a soul level we decide in advance, with God, our guides and angels, when our time on earth is complete. No matter what you think you could have done or should have done, the exit time for your loved ones soul is as it needed to be. It is the wish of your loved ones, that you release any guilt surrounding their passing.
8. I Am Working Through You As One Of Your Guides
I have personally experienced this in my own life – as my Dad has worked through me to balance his own karma. This is very common among souls who struggle with similar issues in life. The soul that has departed will step in as a Spirit Guide for their loved one who is learning similar life lessons to their own. Our loved ones on the Other Side will work to get us on our souls truest path. For me, this is how I began doing the work I do today. My father stepped in as one of my guides to strengthen my abilities in connecting with Spirit. We also see this a lot, with souls who battle addiction, similar life traumas, or generational patterns. The departed soul will work through their remaining life purpose by helping you with yours! In other words; they want you to get it right for both of you.
9. I Am With Family
There are countless reports by those who have had near-death experiences (NDEs), as well as those who have been present during a souls time of transition, that confirm the notion that we are immediately greeted and welcomed on the Other Side by loved ones who have passed before us. The souls of your loved ones will come through in readings with messages like “I’m here with Grandma, she’s taking good care of me.” or (and I see this one a lot) “Look who’s here! My buddy, so and so”. We reconnect instantly with friends and family who have gone before us. Spirit even shows me that they often “show us the ropes!” They share this to let us know they are safe, they are not alone, and are surrounded by love.
10. Thank You For Keeping My Memory Alive
All of our tributes, memorials, and traditions in honor of our departed loved ones don’t go without their recognition. The work we do in their name, the way we speak to our children about them, pass on the lessons, values and examples they’ve taught us, are all received in Heaven. They thank you for the babies you name after them, the candles you light on their birthday, and the way you play their favorite movie during the holidays. This is the way you honor their legacy and allow them to live on through you and your family. And for that, they thank you.
Know that your loved ones are never far. They wait patiently for the day your souls are reunited. Until then, they are ever-present within your heart.
