How to work with Energy Cards

Are you familiar Oracle Cards?

Also known as Angel Cards, or Energy Cards, a cousin to the ancient wisdom of the Tarot, these card decks are less intense, less complicated, and require less experience to interpret than the traditional Tarot. They’re a time-honored divination tool used to receive loving guidance from your Angels, Guides, and Loved Ones in Heaven.

How to Blend them into your Practice

Like all Intuitive Work, the more you utilize your cards, the stronger your practice will become. As you familiarize yourself with your cards, their individual meanings will become clearer as you learn to discern and interpret your customized message.

Use Cards to Connect to your Inner Wisdom

When pulling cards for yourself, you are connecting to the wisdom of your Universal Team – comprised of, your Higher-Self, your Guides, Angels, and Loved Ones, who are always available for guidance. You’re calling upon them for assistance. Use the messages in the cards to help you with any aspect of your life. For me, it’s something that helps me to remain clear and focused during my day. (I stay pulling cards). Angel cards soothe the soul and calm the mind.

Namaste All Day

When I purchased my first Oracle Card Deck back in 2015, when my Spiritual trajectory was in full upswing, I had no idea what I was doing or how to use them. I followed my gut and the directions inside the guidebook that was included. My beloved virgin deck, Indigo Angel was the first purchase of its kind from my favorite local metaphysical supply shop. You can also find Angel, Energy, Tarot and Oracle cards at big box book stores like Barnes & Noble, or order off of Amazon. Personally, I’m not a huge online shopper – there’s something about seeing, feeling and holding certain items before you buy them. To me, a deck of cards is something I’d rather buy in person, but that’s just me. Again, there’s no wrong way here. I talk more about this in How to connect with your Spirit Guides through Oracle Cards

Select a Deck

Intuitive work is personal. It’s yours and no one else’s. When picking a card deck, choose what speaks to you, you’re style, you’re taste. I can’t emphasize this enough. Clients and friends often ask, Heather, which deck should I get? The same way you wouldn’t want someone else to choose a meal for you at your favorite restaurant, your cards should reflect your own taste. It’s a personal preference. Rule of thumb: go with what feels right, have fun and don’t overthink it.

When to Pull a Card

Whether you’re searching for daily motivation, personal messages of encouragement and advice, or insight into bigger situations in your life, Oracle cards offer guidance specifically indented for you. Use them to start your day, to end your night, or to help get you through a difficult time. The cards will always match the current energy that surrounds you. This is in response to the Law of Attraction. More on this in, Be The Energy You Want To Attract.

Energy cards help you to navigate through daily situations, suggest answers to your big questions, and bring light to challenging situations. They aid in healing, while giving you a gentle push or serve as a reminder.

Wanna hear something crazy?? The night I began writing this post, it was dominating my thoughts (as all posts I write do), I had just gotten out of the shower and stopped before beginning to dry my hair, to pull a card (I told you, I stay pulling cards). I was drawn to the Life Purpose Oracle Deck by Doreen Virtue. A deck I am familiar with, but not my top go-to. I had barely gotten all the cards out of the box when this one fell out…

Stop! There’s 44 cards in this deck, and that’s the one that fell out. C’mon! Not a coincidence. A perfect example of an individual meaning at a particular time. I didn’t have to refer to the guidebook for further explanation. The message was clear. My guides were giving the thumbs up to this post. This all comes from them anyhow. Sweet, divine downloads. Pretty cool stuff.

Close Out with a Card

When I meet with a client for a reading, I like to close our session with a card pull. I encourage my client to pull an Angel card as a sentiment to take home with them <3

I don’t use cards as the mighty end-all, be-all, for life’s answers. But I do believe in them. They have proven to bring true, accurate guidance to my life, time and time again. You may find they do the same for you.

With love, light and a little bit a magic ~

Heather
